Year 1 & 2

Welcome to Year 1/2!

Mrs Tomlinson and Mrs Carney are looking forward to an exciting learning journey with you all this year.

Homework will be given on a Monday and should be returned completed on a Thursday.

Reading books are changed every Monday. Children are expected to read at home each day and we would ask that parents sign their diaries each time their child reads.

All our children look so smart in their school uniforms. We are aware of how expensive they can cost and would ask to avoid children losing them in school that each item of uniform has your childs name in it.

Please could you ensure your child has their PE kits in school. We will send them home at the end of each half term for you to wash.

It is important for your child to keep hydrated, could we please ask that you send your child in with a water bottle which has their name on it and contains water only.

As always thank you for your support and we look forward to a great year ahead in Year 1/2.

Maths in Year 1/2 is so much fun!

Welcome back to school. Spring term already!

Many thanks to those of you who came to parents evening, it is always so important to share good news and celebrations with you, as well as setting targets.

Remember to bring your PE kit in at the start of the half term.

Reading books are changed when you return them, so this can be every day if you are a bookworm! We would like you try to change your books at least twice a week.

Please name all items of clothing.

Snack money is 20p each for toast, milk or hot chocolate. Pay for this in advance on Mondays.

We used smarties to work out halves and quarters of amounts. Then we used them for data handling. We earned the treat of eating them at the end. Now we love fractions😋

Shrove Tuesday. We made pancakes. Then we cut them into halves and quarters. Mmmmm.

Our day out to Norton Priory
