Welcome to our new Year 1/2 Class. Ms Tomlinson and Mrs Carney are so excited for your child to join us for a year of exciting and fun learning.
Just a few reminders:-
Homework and spellings are given on a Monday and should be returned completed on Thursday. Please remind your child to check their spellings each night so they are ready for their spelling test on Friday.
Reading books are changed every Monday. We will give three books every week. Please listen to your child read every night and sign the reading diary. We give a dojo for each time they have read. 😀
Please do not put drinks bottles, which should only contain water, into your child's book bag as they can leak and ruin books.
As you are aware PE days are on a Tuesday and Friday. During times of poor weather can we ask that children come in wearing a sweatshirt or a hooded jacket over their T-shirt and that they have a spare PE kit in class with their name on.
This term we will be looking at changes in the local area. We will focus on the main bridges and also look at how the school has changed. Our Science topics will be materials and plants. In English, our books are The Last Wolf by Mini Grey and Beegu by Alexis Deacon

This term we have learned about palaeontologists and what they do. We have learned all about Mary Anning and her discoveries of 'curiosities' and even found some of our own! We read the book, The Curious Case of the Missing Mammoth by Ellie Hattie. The work on our display has been done by our key workers' children in school and also by children working from home.
We have been lucky this half term to have Clare come and work with us on Tuesday mornings. We have enjoyed learning Music and Movement.
I will sing to the Lord as long as I live; I will sing praise to my God while I have being.
We have investigated how materials are different using scientific vocabulary.
