Little Apostles

The Little Apostles at St Edward’s Primary School are a group of pupils who help to live out our school mission to Love, Serve and Learn. They support school and parish events, welcome members of our community, and take part in activities that promote kindness, teamwork and helping others. Through their role, the children learn how to follow Jesus’ example by showing care, respect and compassion, while developing confidence, leadership skills and a strong sense of responsibility.

From the Spring Term, the Little Apostles will also begin leading their own Gathering in Prayer within their classes, helping their peers to reflect, pray and grow together in faith. The Little Apostles play an important role in strengthening links between our school, church and wider community, encouraging everyone to live out our mission in everyday life.

At St Edward’s Primary School, our children support the local food bank as part of living out our mission to Love, Serve and Learn. Through donating food and essential items, pupils learn about caring for others, dignity, and helping those most in need; putting Catholic Social Teaching into action and discovering how small acts of kindness can make a big difference in our community.

The Little Apostles recently visited St Edward's church. They shared prayer rocks they had created in school, sang a special song for parishioners, and took part in worship, learning how to show kindness, reverence and respect within our parish community. This meaningful experience helped the children understand how they can live out our mission to Love, Serve and Learn by putting faith into action and bringing joy to others through simple, thoughtful gestures.

The Little Apostles have been learning how to create a focal point for Gathering in Prayer 🙏 By working together in their classes, they are living out our mission to love, serve and learn with Jesus. ✨

🙏 Class 4 Little Apostles have been busy learning the 5 Finger Prayer!
They’ll be sharing it with our younger classes during gathering prayer this term 💛✨

Little Apostles Sharing Prayer Across School
This week, our Little Apostles from Class 4 took on a leadership role by visiting Class 1 and Class 2 to teach them the Five Finger Prayer. With confidence and kindness, they explained what each finger represented and helped the younger children practise the prayer together. It was a lovely example of our pupils living out our mission to love, serve and learn — sharing their faith, supporting others, and growing up as role models within our school community.
