The Little Apostles at St Edward’s

Who are the Little Apostles?
The Little Apostles are a group of children chosen to help lead and support the prayer life of our school. They play a special role in helping our school community to live out our mission: to love, serve and learn together.

What do the Little Apostles do?

  • Help prepare and lead class and whole-school Prayer & Liturgy

  • Share ideas for prayer, worship and Catholic life across school

  • Support younger children in learning traditional prayers and hymns

  • Help organise special liturgical events and celebrations (Advent, Lent, Holy Week, etc.)

  • Look after the Prayer and Liturgy spaces around school

  • Represent St Edward’s in parish celebrations with Fr Peter

Why do we have Little Apostles?
Jesus called his apostles to share the Good News. Our Little Apostles follow in their footsteps, helping to spread joy, love and faith across our school.

How are they chosen?
Children who would like to be a Little Apostle put themselves forward, sharing why they feel called to this role. Each year, a small group of pupils from across different classes are chosen to serve for the year.

What’s coming up?
From Spring Term, parents and carers will be invited to join some of our Prayer & Liturgy celebrations led by the Little Apostles, helping us to strengthen the link between school, parish and home.
